HELPING YOUTH & FAMILIES HELP THEMSELVES

Sanctuary is dedicated to enhancing the lives of youth and families throughout the island. Its mission focuses on fostering healing and reconciliation during family challenges, advocating for the needs of young people, and supporting their journey toward independence. With more than 50 years of service, Sanctuary collaborates with community partners to address broader issues impacting youth, including homelessness and access to essential resources. Accredited for delivering high-quality care, Sanctuary remains committed to promoting hope, resilience, and stronger futures for Guam’s youth and families.

Community

24-Hour Crisis Hotline

 Community response and crisis intervention hotline provided 24 hours and 7 days of the week. Services include immediate mediation, supportive counseling through conflict, and referral to appropriate service providers.

Guahan Youth Initiative

Guahan Youth Initiative (GYI) supports the efforts of the Guam Homeless Coalition to establish and implement a Youth Homelessness Response System in Guam, and the creation of the Youth Action Board.

Shelters

Co-Ed Emergency Shelter

A 24-hour shelter and safe home for youth ages 12 to 17. It serves as temporary alternative space for 21-30 days. Case management and counseling/therapy services are provided in resolving issues of conflict in times of crisis. 

Sagan Na Homlo

Translated to “A Place for Healing”, SNH is the only residential treatment program for youth in the Micronesian region. This 3 to 6 month program is for chemically dependent youth ages 12 to 18.

Supportive Counseling

 A program to engage, educate, and provide treatment for various life situations involving alcohol, tobacco, relapse prevention, addiction, and more.
